Research, Insights and consumer Survey (RICS) reveals that more than half of mobile phone users in India are looking for new phone within six months. According to the survey 65 percent are young people. Approximately 49 percent of mobile customers in towns are planning to buy smartphones below Rs 15,000. The online survey conducted on mobile users of all age groups in the country. Over 2,000 people participated in this survey.
While mobile phones market is the fastest growing in India, China mobile manufacturers dominating in the market. Indians are loved to buy phones like Xiaomi, Samsung and Apple. Chinese mobile brands like Xiaomi, One Plus, Oppo, Viva, Lenovo, Huawei and other brands have acquired 42 per cent market share in the Indian mobile market. Survey shows that China makers are attracting Indian mobile users with cheap prices. Those who want to buy a phone that cost INR 40,000 are choosing Apple, followed by Samsung.
Many of the mobile phone users are giving priority to the features like battery backup, sound quality and cameras. Notably The latest smart phones coming with high-end technology like wireless charging phones are in their lowest priority list.
In the first quarter of this year, 3 crore units were shipment into Indian mobile market. In the quarter, China Mobile giant Xiaomi topped the highest market share, while Reliance Jio topped the list of 4G feature phones.
