AB de villiers announced his retirement through a video post in twitter. In this video he said like this.. “After 114 Tests, 228 ODIs, 78 T20Is. It is time for others to take over. I have had my turn and to be honest I am tired. This is a tough decision. I have thought long and hard about it. I would like to retire still playing decent cricket. After the fantastic series win against India and Australia, now feels the right time to step aside. It would not be right for me to pick and choose where and when and in what format I play for the Proteas. For me in green and gold, it must be everything or nothing. I will always be grateful to my teammates, coaches and the staff of Cricket South Africa for their support through all these years”
Within no time this video this video went viral over the world. All took time to convey their feelings in social media in text form and video form as well. So many cricket personalities also conveyed their opinions about de villiers and how great he is. More than his records, runs and etc.. the whole impact that he created among the fellow players and upcoming cricketers is just superb. With his batting style and keeping behind wickets is been sensational. With this he created so much of impression on all. No one dislikes him, that much of goodwill he created among all.
Once he steps in the bowlers of opposite team will get the fear. The impression that he left on cricket was didn’t happen with any other cricketer. De villiers entered into the cricket in 2004. Scored 8765 runs in 114 tests he played. In 228 odis he scored 9577 runs. In 78 t20s scored 1672 runs for south Africa. He has the record of second highest test run getter for south Africa. Only Jacques Kallis is the player who scored 11579 test runs been ahead of de villiers.
