Amaravati : Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on Friday praised the women who are in DWCRA groups for their efficiency and competency. Addressing the women present at Pasupu-Kumkuma, an event held in Nelapadu on Friday, he said that only DWCRA groups have the vibrant energy to make things, how critical and tough they may be, possible. “The idea of DWCRA is my brain child. I wanted to uphold the self respect of my sisters, that is why I have taken up the Pasupu – Kumkuma Program” he said.
He urged the women to continue their support to the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh. “Nobody can do any harm to me until you support
me” he said. Explaining the expansion of DWCRA goups, he said that there are 93 lakh members in DWCRA groups and this has been achieved in 23 years. He has brought the financial situation of the state government to the notice of the women. He said that eventhough the
funds are not available to the government, he is giving financial assistance to the DWCRA groups women. Women can achieve the respectable
status in society when they have strengthen themselves financially, he added.
