New Delhi: Arun Jaitley, Stalwart of the Bhartiya Janata Party, Former Finance Minister has died at the age of 66. He passes away at AIMS hospital. The hospital has given official statement of Jaitley’s death.
Jaitley was unwell from last two years. In 2018 he underwent a kidney transplant surgery. During this surgery Jaitley was put under isolation. Before this in 2014 Jaitley underwent a bariatric surgery due to excess weight, he got this weight due to diabetes.
He served as finance minister of the country during PM Narendra Modi’s first term. But because of his unhealthy he didn’t contest in the 2019 election. He himself written a letter to PM Modi to not consider him in active politics, for which Modi considered.
Arun Jaitley a lawyer by profession. During the emergency he was jailed by the Indira Gandhi’s government. At that time, he was a student leader. After, during the time course he had joined in Jan Sangh party which later became as BJP.
