India’s biggest cinematic event IFFI 2019

Goa: The Golden Jubilee edition of the International film festival of India(IFFI) began in Panaji, Goa in the presence of a Galaxy of stars from the Indian and world film industry.

Speaking of After inaugarting, the Mega event Union information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar said that India has been able to assert it’s soft power in the world through films.

He said, Indian film Are being liked world over and there has been an increase in the audience as well. He said that the government has opened a single window through which all the permissions required to shoot a film in the country will be granted. He said that this initiative will benefit Goa, Leh Ladakh and Andaman nicobar as well. He also urged the Indian Film Industry to make films for the Divyangs(visually-impaired).

Renowned superstar Rajnikanth was bestowed with the Icon of the Jubilee Award on the occasion at the hands of Javadekar in the presence of Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, chief minister of Goa Pramod Sawant, I&B secretary Amit Khare and several other luminaries from the film world. Renowned French film actor Isabelle Huppert was honoured with the lifetime achievement award on the occasion.

A postal stamp commemorating 50th edition of IFFI was also released on the occasion by Mr. Javadekar.
