CHIEF MINISTERS WHO HAD THE SHORTEST TENURES

In the Bollywood film ‘Nayak’, Anil Kapoor played the role of chief minister for a day. The character of the CM, he dazzled the audience with his actions against numerous wrongs and also Telugu and Tamil Oke Okkadu movie played the role by Arjun Sarja. In the real world too many political leaders have had dramatic shifts in the careers and hot tenures as chief ministers.Here we took a look:

 

DEVENDRA FADNAVIS

Soon after his resignation on Tuesday afternoon, Devendra fadnavis hold the dubious distinction of being chief minister of Maharashtra with the shortest tenure 3 days. BJP leader resign from his CM post 3 days after He made come back second term in the state. Fadnavis got support of NCP leader Ajit Pawar who had broken ranks with his parent party to lend support to the BJP.

 

 

BS YEDDYURAPPA

In May 2018, BS Yeddyurappa’s 3day tenure is the CM of Karnataka turned out to be one of the shortest in Indian history. The BJP leader was Sworn as the CM of Karnataka on 17th May. he resigned before taking a Supreme Court mandated floor test on 19th May.

 

 

JAGDAMBIKA PAL

He was the Uttar Pradesh chief minister in 1998 for 3 days from 21-23 February. Back then, after the Kalyan Singh government was dismissed, Pal was Sworn in as the chief minister late at night on 21st February. However in a twist of events on 23rd February the Allahabad High Court reinstated Kalyan Singh as the CM.

 

OM PRAKASH CHAUTALA

Leader of Indian national Lok Dal, Om Prakash Chautala has had 4 stints as the CM Haryana between 1989-2004 at different points of time. He served as Haryana CM for 6 days from July 12 to 17 in 1990. Soon came his third stint as the CM when he served for 17 days from 21st March to 6April.

 

 

NITISH KUMAR

During the year 2000 Janata Dal(United) leader Nitish Kumar served as the chief minister for 8 days from March3 to March10.

 

SC MARAK

Salseng C Marak is a senior leader of Indian National Congress in the north eastern state of Meghalaya.Marak served as 12 days CM from 27Feb to 10 march in 1998.
