
Hyderabad: Swetha Reddy, a 17-year-old student from Hyderabad, Telangana has been awarded a scholarship worth Rs. 2 crores to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at Lafayette College in the United States of America. Established in the year 1826, Lafayette College is consistently ranked among the Top 25 colleges in America and is widely known as the Hidden Ivy of the United States.

Swetha is one of the 6 students from all over the world who will receive the prestigious “Dyer Fellowship” at Lafayette College. The fellowship is awarded to select students who show “drive and intrinsic motivation to impact their world, along with a relentless focus on problem solving”, according to Lafayette.
The 2 crore scholarship will cover Swetha’s full tuition and living expenses for all four years at Lafayette. At age 14, Swetha was identified and groomed by Dexterity Global, a national organization powering the next generation of leaders through educational opportunities and training.
Daughter of Prof. Sanjay Reddy and Dr. Andal Reddy, Swetha will pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Lafayette College, located in Pennsylvania, United States.
In the admission and scholarship letter sent to Swetha, Matthew S. Hyde, Dean of Admissions at Lafayette College wrote, “Congratulations! It is my absolute pleasure to share that you have been accepted to Lafayette College! The selection committee was particularly impressed, Swetha, with your excellent performance and engagement throughout your high school years. Your successful high school record and the strong character reflected in your application will empower you to make the most of considerable opportunities.”
On receiving the scholarship, Swetha said, “Being selected at Lafayette College on a 2-crore scholarship is truly an honour and a privilege. When I was 14, I first came in contact with Dexterity Global. This would have never been possible without the training and support I received at Dexterity as a Dexterity to College fellow over last three years. The organization has not just enabled me to receive a world-class education on scholarship but prepared me as a servant leader. I want my education to be an answer to India’s problems. I am forever grateful to Dexterity and my mentor Sharad Sagar Sir.”
